Have you always been attracted to glass and thought about how neat it would be to be able to make something with it? Maybe you took a glass blowing class or even looked into what it would cost to start making stained glass? If you did you might know how expensive glass is, how hard it is to actually make anything and how much time it takes to become skilled... but it is so beautiful, right!? I grew up with stained glass around my house and was always drawn to it.
In grad school I got a grant to learn how to blow glass, and have taken a few glass blowing lessons, but it was hard and hot and I wanted to be more hands on, but glass is hot and sharp and I am clumsy! So instead of working with glass I ended up creating this material that is not hot, has no sharp edges, and is incredibly tactile and meditative!
All you have to do is draw with the material and let it dry for 24 hours! Then you can peel it up and stick them together just like a stickers! Make a sun catcher, stick it on your window, and watch the sun illuminate all the colors just like stained glass. Follow me on instagram for videos of what I am doing with these for inspiration!
